In an effort to restore all things in Christ we are taking up the challenge to reform and restore the intent set forth by our father in the Faith, Archbishop Carmel Henry Carfora (1878 - 1958), who received the Apostolic Succession from Archbishop Rudolph de Landas Berghes of Scotland and who planted the Old Roman Catholic Church in the United States of America.
Archbishop Carfora built up the Church in this country among Italian and Lithuanian immigrants. He planted the Church in several parts of our beloved country and abroad to meet the needs of the Polish, Portuguese, Ukranian, Mexican and West Indian faithful. He entrusted her leadership to bishops that were given the responsibility to carry-on what he began. In the United States several pioneering bishops, priests, women religious and laity took the charge given them and went to work at it. Unfortunately as time passed and our beloved Archbishop Carfora fell asleep in the Lord (1958), some of those remaining bishops he had entrusted with a serious obligation before God, chose to create rifts and dissensions among their flocks and in the larger Church abroad.
The time is upon us to restore our beloved Church in this country. The Old Roman Catholic Church under the leadership of His Excellency, Bishop VICTOR Cianca, SSMM, DD and the Society of Sancta Maria Magdalena is making it our mission to restore the vision set forth by our fathers in the Faith, Archbishop Arnold H. Mathew of Great Britain, planted in the United States by Archbishop Rudolph de Landas Berghes and built up by Archbishop Carmel H. Carfora.
Those who desire to build up the Western Orthodox Christian Faith, as professed by the Old Roman Catholic Church, are encouraged to join us in this effort and support the good work of His Excellency Bishop VICTOR and the Society of Sancta Maria Magdalena.
